About 80 to 166 employees (the number is not fixed yet) of the former government, who failed to come to work, got their salaries on regular basis, according to an internal audit of the General Secretariat of the incumbent cabinet.
‘The salaries were paid for unperformed tasks, which is a violation of the laws on employment, labor and civil servants,’ the government said Monday in a press release.
The salaries of those employees has damaged Macedonia’s budget for about EUR 830,000.
In line with the audit findings, the government has launched a disciplinary procedure against the beneficiaries of such privileges, which may include both employees and employers, the press release reads.
