A driver working for Amazon reportedly broke into a customer’s home and stole his puppy.
The customer, 51-year-old Richard Guttfield from Marsworth, England, noticed his miniature schnauzer Wilma was missing upon arriving back at his home and spotting an Amazon package inside his porch.
Guttfield desperately posted to Facebook looking for Wilma.

He says the driver let himself inside and opened unlocked doors.
“He opened two unlocked doors to the house — I was in a barn conversion next door,” Guttfield told BuzzFeed.
According to Guttfield, the package was small enough to have fit inside the safe box, but the driver decided to drive up to the home instead.
Guttfield next decided to email Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos for help in retrieving his stolen puppy.
An employee fielding Bezos’ emails noticed the correspondence and investigated, discovering the driver’s name and contacting him.
The driver lied and said there were no dogs at Guttfield’s residence during the delivery.
“Rob at Amazon UK was simply wonderful, he didn’t listen to the driver when he said he didn’t remember the dogs and he went to the driver’s home and found Wilma and brought her straight back,” Guttfield wrote in a follow-up post on Facebook. “Thanks Rob!”
Amazon confirmed to Buzzfeed the incident had indeed taken place and that the driver, who works as an independent contractor and not directly for Amazon, had been fired.
“This is inexcusable and does not reflect the high standards we have for our delivery partners — we take these matters seriously,” an Amazon rep stated.
