Fake Patriots try to make noise: Parliament should review agreement with Bulgaria

VMRO-DPMNE MPs demand Parliament should hold a public, open and urgent session in view of the announced signing of the friendship treaty with Bulgaria.

The Parliament should review the agreement and reach conclusions on whether it should or shouldn’t be signed, MP Ilija Dimovski told a news conference Wednesday.

Opposition legislators believe the treaty is detrimental to the Republic of Macedonia and could deteriorate relations between the two neighboring countries.

“The Parliament must gain an insight into the agreement publicly and transparently. The government could hide it for some time because the agreement is potentially harmful for Macedonia. Sooner or later, it must reveal its content,” Dimovski said.

According to him, the treaty will open ‘old, historical wounds and could hurt many families whose members had fallen victims for fighting for an autonomous and independent Macedonia.’
