The new, unelected PM of Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski aka Hairless Zaev, has ordered a new plates to dine from at the Government HQ. He has refused to eat from the current plates since others have used them.
No one is sure whether the plates were made out of platinum or are diamond encrusted, but the alleged recorded and reported cost for each plate is €88.
This is at a time when Macedonia owes over €90m to the EU for stealing electricity from the EU network, and during a time when at least half a dozen other Government run organizations (Post, Railways, MEPSO, ELEM, Pension Fund…) are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.
