Handball: Macedonia beats Iceland in crucial match

Macedonia defeated Iceland in its third match for the European qualifying tournament in Croatia.
As expected, Iceland proved to be a tough opponent, however Kiril Lazarov and company would not be denied their second win in three matches.
Iceland took the lead at the start of the match, but it was the host who controlled the match taking a 15-13 half time lead.

Lazarov scored 11 goals for the home side, Filip Talevski added 5, while Stoilov and Mirkulovski registered four goals behind their names.

In the end, thanks to 12 saves by returning goalie Borko Ristevski, Macedonia won 30-25.
With four points, Macedonia shares the top spot in the group with Ukraine who last night defeated Czech Republic 26-23.

Sunday, Macedonia travels to Reykyavik to face off against Iceland at their home turf.
