Saakashvili eats his tie after being told of losses by Gruzian army against Russia
Famous necktie-nibbler Mikheil Saakashvil is no longer a Ukrainian citizen. The reason? Allegedly Poroshenko didn’t know until just now that Saakashvili was (and still is) a wanted man in his native land of Georgia.
A minor bureaucratic oversight:
Ukraine’s president has rescinded the citizenship of Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia who moved to Ukraine to become leader of one of its most corruption-plagued regions and later resigned.
Ukraine’s migration service announced the move by President Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday, saying it came after Ukraine received unspecified documents from Georgia. Saakashvili was stripped of his Georgian citizenship in 2015 after being appointed as governor of Ukraine’s Odessa region, but the country seeks his extradition to face charges connected with the violent dispersal of protests during his presidency and a raid on a private television station.
And where is Mike, now? Probably holed up in his uncle’s apartment in Hipsterville, New York.
Now without any citizenship of any kind, Saakashvili is desperately searching for a new color revolution. Contact him via WhatsApp if you have any promising leads. Jess Baily, are you reading? Zaev can use a guy like this as his advisor.
