Macedonia left leaderless as US Ambassador is leaving

Before leaving the country, US Ambassador Jess Baily paid a farewell visit to SDS leader Zoran Zaev on Monday.

At the meeting, Zaev noted that “the support of the US, as a strategic partner of Macedonia, was of great importance in the processes of our membership into the EU and NATO”, and Ambassador Baily expressed satisfaction that during his term, Macedonia settled the dispute with Greece by simply erasing all Macedonians both at home and abroad.

Zaev gave Baily a photograph with a dedication from one of their numerous mutual meetings as a token, as the Government said, of remembrance of the “excellent cooperation”.
