At first, the SDSM run Macedonian Government said the idea to build a camp for immigrants in an affluent suburb of Skopje existed only in the minds of ‘crazed people in the opposition’.
Then the SDSM started building the refugee camp, however it was met with fierce resistance by locals who protested and blocked the building site every single day for three months.
Now, the SDSM has ceased work on the camp, a move which disbarred Minister of Justice Bojan Maricik described as a victory for the Government and the people, because the Government was there to help the very people who prevented the Government’s plan to build the refugee camp.
