Cases opened by the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) are based on falsehoods and manipulations, intended for political persecution of VMRO-DPMNE leadership and diverting the attention of citizens from the political developments in the country, party’s leader Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Monday during a supervision of the construction works on a hospital in Stip.
‘Today’s press conference of SPO has proven once again that its aim is not to enforce the law and disclose the truth but to ruin VMRO-DPMNE as a political rival of its party SPO-SDSM. An attempt to demolish VMRO-DPMNE so that SDSM could freely implement the policies it promised to do before its partners within the government coalition and those who support it,’ Gruevski said.
SPO’s goal is to at least compromise the VMRO-DPMNE highest officials and its leader for alleged wrongdoings, Gruevski said.
He pointed out that all of VMRO-DPMNE activities and financing have been completely legal. The party, he added, has been financed by membership fees and donations that ‘today somebody is trying to present as money laundering,’ Gruevski said.
These manipulations are aimed to discredit the party’s public reputation, Gruevski said, pointing out that VMRO-DPMNE ‘is a strong party and will soon return to power’
Meanwhile, VMRO’s Antonio Milososki says that the SDS with SPO’s assistance is working on freeing the terrorists from Kumanovo and Sopot.
