Ohrid hit by three earthquakes in a row, locals panic

Ohrid and its region have been once again rattled by three more earthquakes. A 3.5-magnitude earthquake was registered at 20:28h, the Seismological Observatory of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje reported on Monday evening.

Earlier, a little after eight o’clock in the evening, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake was felt in Ohrid and beyond.

A third one, measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was reported at 18:14h in the area in southwestern Macedonia.

The epicenter of the three earthquakes was located in the Ohrid area.

The strongest earthquake, measuring 5 on the Richter scale, was registered today at 13:18h leaving Ohrid residents panicked although it caused little material damage.

Since June 18, the Ohrid region has been hit by series of earthquakes, estimated by up to 800 jolts until today.
