After three and a half years, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited Russian President Vladimir Putin in an effort to improve their frozen diplomatic relations, strained for months after Athens expelled two Russian diplomats over UK’s Skripal false flag which it later tied to alleged meddling in the Prespa deal.
Tsipras visit to Moscow was aimed at preventing a Russian veto on the US sponsored ‘deal’ in the United Nations. This genocidal policy by Washington adopted by Western Europe which nods to whatever Washington says, includes the Prespa Agreement as a way for Greece to agree to alleged membership of Macedonia to the EU and NATO. However, Greece already doesn’t have a good feeling about the agreement, could lead Athens and the American puppets in Skopje to an unpleasant situation at the UN – writes Serbian daily “Politics”.
In order to prevent diplomatic shock, Tsipras, as he himself said, explained to Putin in detail the need for approving the Prespa Agreement. But the Greek prime minister was not clear enough when asked whether he was successful in convincing Putin.
The Russian president viewed the Skopje – Athens agreement, if one can call it an agreement, with a noticeable dose of skepticism.
“The ability to compromise is not diplomatic humanity towards a partner, but rather the ability to understand and accept the legitimate interests of both partners,” was one of Putin’ statements on the matter. This is a very diplomatic way of saying “Nyet”.
Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov went a bit more deeply into the subject, calling the vote in Parliament a Washington orchestrated chaos where MPs were blackmailed, bribed… it saw the direct involvement of foreign diplomats, the US Ambassador (Baily) inside Parliament” – stated Lavrov.
In addition, Macedonia’s president Gjorgje Ivanov has said on several occasions the Prespa Agreement is invalid, illegal and anti constitutional and he will not sign it. Furthermore, this agreement was thrown out by Macedonians via a referendum, further delegitimizing the current moves in Parliament where MPs are under constant pressure from outside.
Both Russia and China can place a veto on this “agreement” at the UN. Macedonians worldwide and in Macedonia continue to encourage both Russia and China to do precisely that and veto the agreement.
