US Congressmen have requested a confidential meeting with Russian parliamentarians, the Russian State Duma reported.
According to the report, while the Russian Parliament’s House of Commons was preparing an open meeting, to which journalists will be attending, the US side has asked the meeting to be held in a “closed format”.
“At the request of the US side, we decided not to hold the meeting publicly, because the topic of the meeting requires a thorough discussion. We think that it is necessary to support the Americans, “said Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
US congressmen, who are coming to Moscow, will also meet with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Federation Council, along with representatives of the Russian State Duma.
