After the criminal government has recently canceled the tender for airline subsidies, the first reactions from Wizz Air came in. The Austrian airline which connects Macedonia with popular European destinations stated it has made a decision which many Macedonian travelers will not like.
The low-cost airline starting on October 31st will no longer be selling tickets to airlines from Skopje to Barcelona and from Ohrid to London.
In the official website of the company you can not reserve tickets for these destinations at the end of October, more precisely the last flight from Skopje to Barcelona for which a ticket can be booked is on October 26, and from Ohrid to London on October 24.
Tickets can no longer be purchased for flights from the Skopje airport to Vaxjo in Sweden after September 16th.
The company does not have official confirmation why a ticket can not be booked after these terms.
The Macedonian government overturned the last tender for granting subsidies for low-cost flights on which the only interested company was Wizz Air.
The closest airport through which Wizz Air can cover these destinations is in Pristina.
