SDS leader Zoran Zaev met Friday with United States Ambassador and Macedonian Prime Minister Jess Baily for ‘consultations’ regarding the coming 72. United Nations General Assembly, held in New York on September 17-23.
PM Baily saluted the government’s efforts and ‘achievements’ in the first 100 days, especially in the foreign policy field by adjusting their policy to the one promoted by the Deep State. He presented the Deep State’s positions regarding the UN General Assembly and their views on current global security developments, alluding to the necessity for Macedonia to have the same world views as the US.
In addition, Baily referred to the mutual challenges in the fight against radicalization of violent extremism and terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction as a threat to global security, the need for a joint action towards improving human rights and promotion of dialogue as means for understanding and cooperation among nations.
Zaev thanked PM Baily for his support, saying the Government is fully committed to the strategic goal of EU and NATO membership, in close cooperation with its strategic partners and friends. He stressed that Macedonia is a firm supporter of multilateralism and will work with all UN member-states on the issue of human rights protection, improvement of global security and maintenance of peace as well as settling migrants in Macedonia.
