“My phone was turned off. I received serious threats via SMS…” BESA’s MP Kastriot Rexhepi has one of a kind phone, a phone that receives txt messages while being turned off.
Despite having two days to come up with a credible story, the blackmailed and kidnapped MP Kastriot Rexhepi had a disastrous appearance in Parliament this morning. Rexhepi claimed he felt threatened by people known only to him, and instead of going to the police, he went by his own free will to DUI’s HQ in Mala Rechica where he stayed for 48 hours! Rexhepi then proceeded to lie that he had no communication with anyone, only to change his story midway through and state that he communicated with Zaev and Ahmeti.
When asked to explain by other MPs whether he was in contact with Zaev, Rexhepi kept nervously and repeatedly sipping water unsure taking his time to answer, first going with “I wasn’t in contact with anyone”, only seconds later to change the tune to “I was in contact with Zaev and Ahmeti”. Other MPs asked him how much he was paid for his “ordeal”. Rexhepi stated he only did what he did for the good of the country.
Update: Rexhepi keeps digging a hole for himself, after showing up on another TV interview where once again he couldn’t keep his story straight. During an interview with TV21, Rexhepi stated: Zaev has not called me. It is normal that I know him, but he did not ask for me, nor did he call me in the last two weeks. Yes, Dimitrov, Oliver Spasovski, Maricic, did call me, I am talking about the first phase.
Half an hour later, in the same interview Rexhepi said:
I’ve been in coordination with the Prime Minister (Zaev), as high ranking official of a party that was in the ruling coalition. At the moment when he announced his resignation, I called on him not to go ahead with it. All other actions can be done after we make sure we get the date. Now is not the time for instability.
Rexhepi signed on Wednesday, was bought by Ahmeti and Zaev on Wednesday.
He did take money. 1.5m euros to be exact.
