Supreme Judge and Zaev confidant Nake Georgiev reached an agreement with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption (OJO GOKK) in connection with the case of accepting a bribe from the son of the ex mayor of Novo Selo Boro Stojchev and accepted that he be sentenced to three years in prison , as well as a Prohibition on performing a profession, activity or duty of an official for a period of three years.
Yesterday, in the same case, the member of the Council of Public Prosecutors, Idzet Memeti, entered into an agreement with the prosecutor’s office, who received a one-year suspended prison sentence and the same ban on performing the profession, activity or duty of an official for a period of three years.
Keep in mind, both Idzet Memeti and Nake Georgiev are responsible for dozens of criminals not being prosecuted or walking free thanks to the activities of these two. And for them to receive such light sentences, including no prison time for Idzet Memeti, is truly astonishing and a large failure of the new Government. What sort of message are they sending?
