A building in Kiev that houses the Macedonian Embassy, among other embassies, was shaken up after a missile strike today. Some damage was inflicted on our offices, along with five other embassies. There are no injuries reported among the diplomatic staff.
The Macedonian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack. “These unacceptable acts of aggression threaten diplomatic missions and the safety of civilians”, the Ministry said in a tweet.
The target was a Ukrainian decision making center nearby, however the blast was felt to several buildings nearby where the damage occurred. As to why Ukraine put their military HQ next to a building housing more than six embassies, this is up for a debate. Is Kiev abusing and putting diplomatic missions in danger, essentially uses them as a shield by purposefully placing military offices right next to them?
