Macedonian president: I will boycott referendum

President Ivanov is visiting the US where he spoke at the UN. Prior to his return he visited Washington DC where he spoke at the UMD gala.
Before the attendees of the dinner-gala Ivanov noted that he had already voted in a referendum on September 8, 27 years ago. He added that he then voted for an independent and sovereign Republic of Macedonia and is proud of that decision.

Therefore, on September 30 I will not go out to vote” – said President Ivanov, adding that he twice won the trust of the people to prevent a change of the Constitution in order to change the constitutional name and not to accept ideas and proposals that endanger the Macedonian national identity, culture and history!”

Bravo! Need more like this man, to veto the referendum coz its a lousy deal for the Greek side. Imagine giving up their national heritage and handing over the name Macedonia. It was wrong then and it’s wrong now.
    So thank you.

Pay attention all Makedonci. You don’t want to vote yourself into being “Citizen of North Macedonia” as your nationality just to make the Greek Kotsias happy.
