Perpetual theater: Another DPNE MP arrested

2

A Skopje Court asked Macedonia’s Parliament today to revoke former Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski’s immunity, after he was charged by Zaev’s prosecutors on Wednesday.

Veljanoski was arrested along with former Government Ministers Mile Janakieski and Spiro Ristovski (who campaigned for renaming the country), and are all kept in detention. Veljanoski is still a member of Parliament and has immunity from arrest. However, that doesn’t seem to matter.

The three are charged in the latest installment of the never ending court case over the April 2017 incident in Parliament. The case was used by the SDS Government to blackmail DPMNE members of Parliament to vote in favor of renaming Macedonia and to pressure other political opponents to do what they are told to do or face arrest on made up charges.
