DUI and SDSM have stated that people would not be allowed to vote in the elections unless they have in their possession a state issued ID with the name “north” in it. Many people indeed fell for this nonsense and started creating large queues in front of passport/ID offices in the capital.
The Government order to replace your valid ID with a new ID is of course complete bullsh*it and illegal. There isn’t a legal act in place which gives the Government the power to tell you that your ID is invalid if it’s still valid i.e. not expired.
Only a Court order that lays out reasons and confirms that the very ID you hold is no longer valid can be considered a legal act. There is no such act. Instead, due to budget woes the corrupt Government is forcing everyone to obtain new documents, while of course increasing the cost to get those documents by 25%. As a result of Government blackmails many people with IDs valid past 2026 were obtaining new IDs.
There is no need to do any of this. Your ID is valid, just like it says on it, don’t get a new one.
Remember, this is the same bandits in SDSM and DUI who two years ago told you can travel with expired passports and are now telling you your valid unexpired ID is no good.
