Last night’s SEC’s unlawful ruling which would allow people to cast unverified and unstamped ballots, contradicting Macedonian electoral law was met with fury by the public who pummeled the SEC with thousands of messages on social media.
With its move, the SEC clearly gave green light to electoral fraud, which Macedonia already has a problem with during every election.
After the massive backlash by the public, who called the SEC “beyond corrupt” this morning the SEC quickly issued a press release that they have negated their last night ruling, and will now follow Macedonia electoral law, namely your ballot needs to be issued only at the polling location and must have the polling station stamp on it, for it to be counted, thus greatly reducing the chances for electoral fraud.
