Kosovo continues turning into a terrorist stronghold. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday, urging the states “behind Pristina” to pay serious attention to it.
The whole territory of Kosovo continues turning into a terrorist stronghold, Zakharova said at a regular press conference.
According to her, previously recruited and trained Kosovo Albanian ISIS fighters are returning to the region from the war zone.
There are already about 250 such cases, Zakharova said.
She added that those are people who have radical views and a great deal of fighting experience.
This poses another security risk to the Balkans and all of Europe, Zaharova warned.
She believes that the rise in the threat of terrorism is obvious. According to her, the Albanian authorities in Kosovo are unable to fight it “even if they want to.”
We call on those behind Pristina, the United States and the EU to pay the utmost attention to this. We believe that the EU should take appropriate measures, Zakharova said.
