In the period between January-September this year, 4,500 Albanian citizens were deported from Germany, and another 14,000 have deportation orders pending.
– This is a process that requires a certain amount of time. I can not specify the vertical framework for when this problem will get a solution, but it is very important to say that the asylum path to Germany is a mistake. Those who will be deported may be imposed a ban on entry for a period of five years , says Susane Schultz, German ambassador to Tirana.
This year, according to the Albanian Ministry of Interior, the number of Albanian citizens who left as asylum seekers in Germany or some other EU member state is visibly reduced compared to previous years.
Otherwise, in the period 2014-2016, over 120,000 illegal immigrants from Albania entered western EU countries. Most of them, or to be exact 101,000 of them have been deported, a process that continues.
